A lot of the rapping is just getting a handle on what’s going on.
For example, if you’re trying to make a point, it’s not enough to say “I can’t do this” or “I need to be this,” you need to actually say something like, “I don’t want to do this, but I can’t go to this venue or this party because of this.”
The fact that you can’t say, “Well, I’m not really trying to be a B.S. rapper because I’m a fucking athlete” is an important distinction.
There are some rappers that don’t do that, and there are some that do.
That’s something that I hope to change, because I feel like I’m on the right track.
